What is new on the Ram 1500 for the 2020 model year?
Coming exclusively to the RAM this year is an EcoDiesel engine that produces a whopping 480 lb-ft of torque and the best half-ton diesel towing capacity in its class at 12,560 pounds. Also available is a Night Edition that provides consumers with a slick monochromatic design that rides on the back of its 20-inch black wheels, black badging, and other exterior details. The Big Horn is also available in a wide variety of body colors. Three different exterior colors include Hydro Blue, Walnut Brown, and Olive Green.
What’s Inside the Big Horn Cabin?
Ram trucks have had the best infotainment systems and connectivity features for the longest time. That continues as on the Big Horn; you get the option of either an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen. The Uconnect system boasts a ton of fun features, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a mobile hotspot. Even the largest touchscreen comes with physical knobs and hard buttons that complement the touchpoints. The best part of the RAM 1500 is that it provides nearly 100 percent more storage space when you put it up to its closest competitor. Front passengers will feel like they are sitting on a cloud thanks to the comfortable seating either on the three-place bench or twin bucket seats. Dashboards are convenient and attractive, and the storage cubbies and pockets are plentiful. All of this makes the RAM 1500 one of the gorgeous pickups on the market.
Power and Capability of the Big Horn Quad Cab
With a 12,750-pound towing capacity and 2,300 pounds of payload, the RAM is one of the most potent pickups on the market. Under the hood, you get your choice of either a V6 or a V8 powertrain. Both engines provide you with a 48-volt hybrid system, but the V8 can go without it. There is also the option of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel that produces a terrific 480 lb-ft of torque. The entire engine lineup has a diverse fuel economy. The V6 earns up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, while the V8 gets 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. Both engines can be had with the eTorque system, which functions smoothly and transparently, with no shuddering at the stoplight. The engine restarts, thanks to the stop/start system, are smooth and unnoticeable. The eTorque is optional on the V8, but when you go with it, there will be an additional 130 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel-drive is standard on the Big Horn with four-wheel drive as an available option.
